Revamped Visit Richmond Goes Live

14/03/2012

Visit Richmond's redesigned website has gone live with increased functionality, improved navigation and a modern look and feel.

Ewa Winnik, Economic Development Officer for the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, said, "NVG has inspired us to work towards the fully functional website now seen on www.visitrichmond.co.uk, which includes up-to-date information on events and attractions, bookable accommodation and e-commerce opportunities for business within Richmond upon Thames."

Visit Richmond worked closely with NVG in redesigning the site to increase domestic and overseas visitor awareness of the destination in preparation for the major events taking place in London in 2012.
Angela Ivey, Tourism and Events Manager for Richmond commented, "2012 will be an exciting year for Richmond and its villages. We will host the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations on the 15th of May in Richmond Park, and over the extended Bank Holiday weekend from the 2nd to the 5th of June. In addition, the London Olympic Committee for the Olympic Games (LOCOG) has confirmed that the Olympic Torch Relay will visit the borough on the 24th and the 27th of July 2012, making it the only borough in London that will see the torch twice. Three Olympic cycling events will be passing through and if that is not enough, 3 Olympic teams will be training at St Mary's University College in Teddington prior to the Games; the Irish, the Chinese and the South African teams."

"Thanks to NVG's ongoing support and sound advice we will be able to build on the opportunities via a well-functioning website, offering everything from tickets to downloadable maps and brochures."
